William A. Berke (3 October 1903 – 15 February 1958) was an American film director, producer and screenwriter. He directed nearly 90 films between 1934 and 1958. Dick Tracy, a supremely intelligent police detective, must solve a series of brutal murders in which the victims, all from different social and economic backgrounds, are viciously slashed to pieces by the one known as Splitface.
